Discarded road measuring 4.5m in width with more than nine pairs of ruts in-between. Along the southern side of the road, a large number of duplicated receptacles for manure, made of mortar, looks jammed to make a line. This road was the former Shirakawa-michi route running to the northeast for crossing the Hiei mountains. The hardened surface of the road of the medieval age running to the same direction has been found close to here, which clearly shows the long duration of this route.
