Although "stay-homes" through school closures and telecommuting are recommended to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, in many cases "stay-homes" increase the total amount of household chores. If the burden and stress of shadow work (invisible work) associated with stay-home is not taken into account, the people's lives and the economy will be crushed. Professor Ochiai points out that we need not only economic measures, but also measures to ensure that people's lives revolve around care and housework. |
